Like many mothers, I have experienced waiting rooms more than I really bargained for, with the inevitable fussy children: often mine...and then some others.
Later, it was the ER for burns, large cuts or bikie falls...
Sometimes I was able to grab some books, often not, and we had to wait hours without anything to keep my little ones quiet.
How many times did I look for something to help them focus their attention away from the pain or the stressful environment?
So, I made up stories or sang softly one of their favorite nursery rhyme...
Years later, my no-longer fussy children gone for college, and remembering some of the more difficult times, I had the idea to design playful, colorful and fun activities to alleviate stress and anxiety for children, and sometimes parents, in the medical environment.
Walli-Kids was born! First in the US and then in Europe, where Sylvie joined our team.
From there, our playful activity boards and lap-posters expanded to schools and airports as our activities are now available in several languages.
